Invisalign Information

How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign straightens your teeth in discrete gentle steps, by wearing a sequence of Aligners. The Aligners are clear and fit over your teeth much like a contact lens fits the eye. An entire Invisalign Aligner series is made from a single impression of your teeth.

Am I a candidate for Invisalign?

Across the United States tens of thousands of patients have been treated with Invisalign, and several hundred new cases start treatment each day. Invisalign can be used broadly to straighten teeth, and we are pleased to offer Invisalign to a high percentage of patients that come to our office. At your first visit Dr. van den Berg will be able to explain all your treatment options to you, including Invisalign.

How comfortable is Invisalign?
Invisalign orthodontic treatment is remarkably comfortable. The secret is in the high level of control over the adjustment between Aligners. Invisalign moves the teeth in small steps that range from .1 to .25 mm. That is only 4/1000 to 1/100 of an inch! Some of our patients switch to new Aligners before right bed, and by the time they wake up in the morning their teeth have allready adjusted to their new position!

Will I be able to see my own Invisalign treatment on the computer?
Yes you can! Once your teeth have been scanned into the computer a 3-dimensional image of your teeth and your treatment is made. You will be able to see the wonderful changes that are planned for your smile, before you even start wearing the Invisalign Aligners. We will also generate a movie of your treatment, showing your progress from aligner to aligner, for you to share with your friends and family!
